The weekly schedule is based on a 3 day program, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and is comprised as follows:
Day 1
Morning
Tim will lay out a general plan for the workshops and talk about his background, musical inspiration, and general method of song writing. He will discuss his approach to singing and music in general.
He will perform various songs and generally create a friendly open creative atmosphere for working.
Song structure - we will explore the basis of song structure (Rhythm, Melody, Lyrics, and look at Verse/Chorus/Bridge structures).
Tim will look at how the great songwriters have created ideas.
Lunch.
Afternoon
Brainstorming session.
Everyone should now feel comfortable enough to start creating ideas. We will look at song themes (story lines etc...), and basically jam ideas and start to form the basis of your songs.
Finish: open jam session.
Day 2
Morning
Writing session by lake (inside by the fire in winter !!). We will seek inspiration from the natural beautiful of the surrounding lakes and mountains, and start to hone lyrical and melodic ideas.
Lunch.
Afternoon
Tim will help to put the songs into a structure. He will look look at dynamics and melodic hooks and riffs, and work on vocal expression and harmony creation.
Day 3
Morning
Finalising song ideas and general feedback.
Lunch.
Afternoon
Tim will record finished songs - live audio and video recordings of your performance.
Evening
In the evening there will be an informal concert of songs. This is optional for those wishing to perform their songs. Tim will do a mini concert.
